It’s been a few busy weeks. Moving my mom into assisted living, cleaning out her old apartment for inspection, and now getting ready for Vacation Bible Study next week. I’m so excited for that! We’ve been decorating our whole church with the SonRock Kids Camp theme. I have the third grade class this year. It’s just pure fun!
Anyway, we’re planning on getting the rest of my cd, All I Hear, put on the website in the next two weeks. I’m sorry it’s taken so long, but I’m just happy we can still do it.
Are you enjoying your summer? I hope so. Even when sad things happen, God turns around and gives me a beautiful sunrise, or blooming flowers to enjoy, or a peaceful night sitting on the porch. He fills my heart with such love, I can’t help but love Him back.
When it rains, it pours……then there’s a hurricane. 🙁
Our beloved pet St. Bernard, Isabella Marie, died unexpectedly this past Sunday at the ER Veterinary at 2:00 am. She went into shock after she got stomach bloat with twisted intestines. They say it’s common for big dogs, but we didn’t know. She wouldn’t have survived the surgery, even though she was only three years old.
My heart is completely broken and I miss my dear Izzy every day.
In the midst of all this double-grieving over my brother and my dog dying, we got word that my mom was accepted into assisted living. So I guess it’s a good thing that I am so busy moving her, so I don’t just sit around and cry, which I do anyway whenever I stop working.
I’m glad Jesus keeps His promises, because He says, “This too shall pass.”
When it does, I’ll be singing again, if only because He is worthy!
My mother always said when it rains, it pours. So true.
We’ve been to Nebraska and back to bring my brother’s cremated ashes to Duluth for a memorial service here. We’ve got family coming in from out-of-state this weekend for that. My mother-in-law had a gallbladder attack for three days. My mother was having a harder time than usual breathing even with her oxygen because of the humid weather. My sister-in-law got re-married. Our St. Bernard got her toenail cut half off and bled like a stuck pig all over my kitchen floor.
Our busy schedule sounds overwhelming when we look at it like that, but we only have to take one day at a time. Lamentations chapter 3, verse 23 reads: “God’s mercies are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
