God is always so good!  I love Him so much!

I had my surgery.  Pathologist proclaimed it melanoma in situ, all in the epidermis skin, so they got it all when they did my re-excision.  Sweet! It had not grown deeper into the tissues and organs!  I had stitches for two weeks but got them out last Friday.

I’m ready to move on!!

Our little St. Bernard puppy was sick for six weeks but she is completely healed now, too!

I’m still ready to move on!!

Looking forward to posting some new songs…….. 🙂

On August 23 I posted about my poor sunflowers and how I had waited too long.  They were only about three feet high when they stopped growing.  Some deer had come along and eaten the tops off about five of them.  The leaves were getting torn and brown.

My brother stopped by two weeks ago and chided me about my lack of gardening skills.  All he has to do is look at a plant and it’s blooming everywhere.

Then, my husband came in last week with a funny look on his face.  Did you know your sunflowers are blooming? he asked me.  No way!  I got up to go see, and sure enough, there were two blooming.  I just stood there amazed, and I heard God whisper on the wind.  “See?  I make all things new!”

By the end of the week, five more sunflowers bloomed despite all odds.  You see, I can sow the seed, I can water the seed, I can dig out the weeds, but in the end, even when I thought it was hopeless, only God can make it grow.

The spiritual application is still there.  Never give up hope, for God is still in control.  I’m so thankful for His great love and mercy.

We have a new St. Bernard puppy.  🙂  Her name is Eva Marie and she’s only 7 1/2 weeks old.

Wow#1 –   Soooo cute but I sure did forget very quickly all the trauma’s and drama’s of raising a new puppy.  My husband took a week’s vacation to help, thank goodness.

Summer’s been pretty good so far.  We’ve gotten to see our kids and grandkids, and both our moms have been holding steady.

Wow#2 – then my pre-cancer A.K.’s came back on my face.  They make such a mess of my skin and my summer days.  I also discovered a new mole I didn’t know I had, on my lower belly of all places.  A biopsy revealed severe atypia with positive margins, which basically means a borderline melanoma, according to my dermatologist.

Life can sure get turned upside down in a hurry.  I have to go back in for a re-excision of that site, to make sure they got it all.  Not much fun to look forward to, but soooo thankful it sounds like they caught it in time.

Wow#3 – none of this changes a thing!  God is still God, and He’s soooo good to me!  I’m excited to tell you that I will be sharing from my next cd, Each New Day, in just a few weeks.

Hope your summer is going wonderful!

I waited too long.  I waited to see if my husband would have time to work with me outside in the yard.  I waited to see if my grandkids would come over to help me.  I waited for the weather to be nicer.  I waited because I was too busy doing other things.

Finally two months later, I  dug weeds and planted my sunflower seeds.  I watered them every day.  My husband said they wouldn’t grow, but soon the little leaves popped up and I was so smug.  They grew a few inches, then a foot, now almost three feet high.

That’s when I noticed other sunflowers were six feet high and blooming beautifully.  I went outside and saw that actually, my little plants were starting to die.  Leaves withering and stalks bent over pitifully.

I waited too long.

There’s a spiritual application here.  Don’t wait too long to find Jesus.  Don’t wait too long to share Jesus.  Don’t wait too long…..it might be too late.

Recently we went to our grandson’s birthday bowling party.  The youngest grandson would walk to the kiddie ramp, thrust his ball down and watch for it to knock over a few pins.  Then he would turn around, dust his hands off and triumphantly proclaim to his parents, I did it!

I chuckled to myself.  I couldn’t help but think of Jesus when He arose from the grave, having conquered sin, hell, and death, and returned to His Father in heaven.  There He was…..the Son of God and the Son of man.  Was there just a small portion of His humanness that wanted to dust His hands and triumphantly proclaim to His Father, ‘I did it!’ ?

Jesus Christ did indeed “do it”!  He earned the right to be our Savior.

Revelation is the name of the last book of the Bible, and the name Revelation means “the revealing of Jesus Christ”!  It is not the end but the beginning of eternity with our triumphant Savior Jesus Christ! Read it for yourself. It’s an amazing book.  🙂
